Part I: General Information
Name: What is your character’s full name. You can add nicknames as well.
Date of Birth or Age: When was your character born? Was it prophesized? Was your character born on a full moon or during another significant event?
Primary Motivation: What is the underlying goal in your character’s life? What drives them? Does he live for something like peace and justice, or does he live more for recognition and power? Take some time to think about this point as this should ultimately influence how your character is influenced.
Part II: Character Traits
Outlook: How does your character view the world? Are they optimistic and idealistic? Or more cynical?
Integrity: How does your character work in terms of their values? Is he deceitful?
Affinity: What is your character’s emotional attitude towards others like? Is he caring, does he sympathize? Or is he cold and self-absorbed?
Demeanor: What is your characters general style in which they interact openly with others? Is he gruff and critical, or soft-spoken and gentle?
Habits and Hobbies: Does your character have anything that they do habitually? Do they have a hobby they regularly participate in, something they thoroughly enjoy? Are there oddities about your character that would go noticed by other members of the group?
Topics of Conversation: Does your character have any favorite topics? Is there something they are well versed in that the group might not know about them?
Group Affiliations: Is there a sect of people your character identifies well with or has worked with in the past that they know well? Who does your character get along with?
Mental and Emotional Disorders: Does your character suffer from anything such as addiction, anxiety, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, paranoia, etc.? Do they have any emotional hang ups, anything that keeps them from doing certain things because of past traumas?
Part III: Background
Birthplace: Where is your character from? What is the geography like? The weather? Industry? Local government? How big was the area?
Family: Does your character have relatives? Did they influence your character in any way? Are they living or deceased? What was your character’s family known for or what did they do for occupations? Did your character’s family have a reputation? Was your character raised by someone other than their biological parents?
Professions: Is your character proficient in anything? Have they apprenticed or mastered a craft? Where did they train, and who with? What drove them to join and/or leave the profession? How successful was your character? Have they had more than one profession in their lifetime?
Part IV: Past Events
Family Related Events: Are there any secrets, unusual problems, or traumas within your character’s family? Was there something positive that happened to make the family prosperous?
Personal Events: Did your character ever sustain a bad injury or betrayal? Commit any crimes? Did your character ever find something of great value that changed his life?
Notable Individuals: Were there any strangers or friends in your characters life who changed or influenced your character either negatively or positively?
Mysteries: Are there mysteries in your character’s life that they want to know the answers to?
Existing Conflicts: Is there a major conflict in your character’s life? Is there a person they have a rivalry with? Someone or an event they are trying to stop? Why is it such a big obstacle for your character morally or otherwise?
Possessions: Is your character sure to carry something specific with them at all times? Is it more than one thing? Is there a specific reason they carry these items?
Duties: Does your character have any obligation or oath they need to uphold? Do they have past debts? Did they make a promise to anyone that they need to fulfill?
